The day before in Krasnoyarsk was the final match of the tournament on hockey in the winter Universiade 2019, in which the Russian team confidently defeated the Swedish students with a score of 6:1. This medal was the 100th for the hosts of the tournament, won at the Games.
It is worth Recalling that hockey was first included in the program of the winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk. So, the victory of the Russian student team is historic. And doubly pleased that a significant contribution to the success of our team and made a student of the Volga Academy, midfielder Kazan "Dynamo" Vladislav Veselov. In the opening match against Kazakhstan, he scored a goal and an assist. In the semifinal match he was the author of one of the 11 goals of the Russian team against the Finnish team. Assisted him, by the way, the best scorer of our team Sergey Gan.
Note that the mentor of the Russian student team in Krasnoyarsk was the head coach of the Kazan "Dynamo" Ilyas Khandaev. Today in telephone conversation Ilyas Igorevich estimated game of the club ward as a part of the national team:
