Women's basketball national team of Volga Academy of sport became the silver medalist of the Superleague ASB. In the final eight in Ivanovo, our team lost to the KOR PK team (College of Olympic reserve of the Perm region) in the decisive match on Sunday.
In the quarterfinal wards Natalia Kuleshova defeated the team of Saratov state University with the score 90:60 (16:20, 24:17, 26:11, 24:12). Having overcome starting excitement, our girls made up for lost time in the first quarter in the following three efforts Elizaveta Zaitseva (21 points, 12 rebounds), Alina Novikova (20 points and 8 assists) and Karina Peremennoi (17 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists).
In the semifinal "academicians" confidently defeated Tyumen industrial University with the score 83:51 (26:11, 21:16, 26:10, 10:14). And in this meeting the best again was Alina Novikova (22 points, 11 rebounds).
In the final, the Academy team had a principal rival-the KOR PK team (the College of Olympic reserve of the Perm region). In a stubborn match, "academicians" lost to the Perm basketball players with the score 83:95 (28:21, 17:19, 23:24, 15:31). Again, the best on the site of our team were Elizabeth Zaitseva (29 points) and Alina Novikova (20 points). But it is no coincidence that the coach of our team Natalia Kuleshova in an interview before the trip to Ivanovo called the main conditions of victory over the Perm team neutralization of its leader Polina Matushkina.  Students of the Academy did not cope with the task. On account of my Mother in this meeting, 56 points and 6 assists. Matushkina worked, did not leave the site for a second, and in defense making 7 rebounds under his shield.
