On Monday, the Volga region Academy of sports hosted the opening of training courses for basketball coaches under the program "Methodological foundations of the organization of classes with basketball players at the training stage and the stage of sports improvement." The rector of the Academy Yusup Yakubov and the Director of the higher school of trainers Sergey yelevich spoke to the coaches gathered in the audience.
The rector reminded in his welcoming speech that the Academy holds this event for the second time and is interested in further cooperation with the RFB:
- I am grateful to Sergey Nikolaevich that he finds opportunity to hold this action on our platform. Professional development of coaches, retraining in the field of basketball are important for us as a higher education institution that trains basketball coaches. We are seeing a growing interest in basketball. Today in our database about 50 potential entrants on the direction training in the chosen sport (basketball). And we will be able to accept at best 25 people. Competition in ASB tournaments is also growing, where our student teams perform with dignity. We are well aware that the qualification of the coach is the most important component of success. But these courses are taught by coaches from Tatarstan. Of the 110 people who came to participate, 44-from the regions of the Republic and Kazan. The rest are from other regions of the country. This is no less important for us, as we are a Federal University, where 40 percent of students came to us from outside Tatarstan. We are interested in them to return home after graduation and work there by profession. I would like all those who are present in the audience today to approach the training not formally, but to try to replenish the knowledge base during these three days.  And we are ready to host coaches every year. After all, the Academy has all the resources to create the most favorable conditions for learning.

However, from pleasant topics, the head of the courses immediately moved to painful issues of domestic basketball, which the RFB is trying to solve with the help of such courses:
- Not everyone comes to basketball with higher sports education, many coaches have technical universities. That is why I initiated the creation of such regional educational centers. After all, the low qualification of the coach affects the fact that we do not receive enough players for the national team.
