The third place in the European badminton championship among mixed teams, which ended in Copenhagen, was taken by the Russian team. As a part of our team the bronze prize-winner of the tournament was the master's student of the Volga region Academy Evgenia Kosetskaya.
In the semifinals, Russian badminton players lost to Germany with a score of 1: 3. Kosecka in your fight lost to Yvonne Lee in three games– 21:17, 16:21, 17:21. In the final match, Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov lost to Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel in two sets-14: 21, 19: 21.
In an interview with the press service of the badminton Federation of Russia, the head coach of the Russian team Claudia Mayorova so appreciated the performance of the team: "our Main problem was the fatigue of the leading player - Vladimir Ivanov, who during all the main matches of the tournament was involved in two categories. He and his partners were played heavy, important fixtures against the leading players in Europe that are definitely not affected. The German team was able to find the necessary reserves.
