Three bronze medals at the championship of Russia in kickboxing among students, held in Omsk, won sophomores of the Volga region Academy of sports. 150 best kickboxer students from 33 higher educational institutions of the country took part in the competition. Tatarstan was represented at the tournament by a trio of "academicians", coached by Ilnaz Saifullin — honored master of sports of Russia, senior lecturer of the Department of theory and methodology of physical culture and sports of the Volga region Academy.
Timofey Jafarov won the bronze medal in the full-contact section in the semifinal. Munir Mamajanov, becoming a bronze medalist in the K-1 section, entered the reserve team of the student team of the country for a trip to the European championship, which will be held in Croatian Zagreb from July 30 to August 4. Artem Sayapov also won a bronze medal in his weight category.
