- It is hard to learn and to play professionally in football?
- Not easy, but I try not to start my studies. I am very grateful to the leadership of the Academy that, taking into account my circumstances, meet the schedule of exams, and generally very good attitude. As soon as I get the chance, I come.
- Are you going to work as a coach in the future? Have you thought about grad school?
- No, I haven't thought about coaching yet. I am not going to enter the magistracy yet. But I understand that education will be useful in the future. No one knows what will happen to you tomorrow. 
 How's the Academy?
- Really like. When I played in Kazan, I was here more often. The University has created all conditions for students to progress and achieve their goals. Study and do science.
 Masters learns your former mate Elmir Nabiullin intersect?
- Yes, I know that Elmir studies here. When I was playing in Rubin often came together at the session. But now he's playing for another club, so we don't cross paths.
- And from the current players of "Rubin", students of the Academy - a few very young players who spent for the main team for one or two games.
- I know them, of course. Together we played in the youth team and for the team "Rubin" by age. But with them have not communicated. I come to Kazan for a couple of days, I barely have time to solve all my questions. Everything happens in a hurry. And now all that time, did leave: tomorrow we fly to the training camp in Spain.
- You have had a bright and successful last year, except for the injury that prevented you from making your debut in the national team…
- Yeah. The most important event is that I signed a contract with CSKA. Then everything else, including the match against real Madrid. Yesterday I could only dream about it. It is a pity, of course, that everything happened with the national team. But all that is done, for the better. Still going to play, I hope.
- Do you remember the ruby?
- Of course, I will always be grateful to the Kazan club. After all, this is where I became a professional club player. I have the warmest attitude to Rubin and his fans. And Kazan is my hometown. No offense.
- Nevertheless, in" Rubin " coaches didn't always trust you. And today, the club policy has changed: young people are increasingly not a field.
 So that the youngsters play. I'm young myself. I like it when the clubs trust the guys from the double. I believe that they are the future. For any club in all respects it is better to raise their pupils.
- You are not long, but trained in the "Rubin" under the leadership of Berdyev, now – Goncharenko, considered one of the most talented professionals. Good school for the student of the direction "training in the chosen sport".
- Yes, it is experience, practice and knowledge. Both have a lot to learn. Goncharenko-a modern coach, to each player finds an approach, strong, both in terms of tactics and psychology. I just have to work to meet his requirements and go out on the field.

Interestingly, now the head of the Department of football and hockey of the Volga Academy of sports Valery Pokaninov, met with Ilzat Akhmetov long before his move to Kazan. The fact that Valery Borisovich headed Togliatti sports school "Lada" at a time when a very young 10-year-old Akhmetov was brought to the famous school of Konoplev.
- They often played - recalls Potanino. - Ilzat was a puny kid. Technically well equipped, but markedly inferior in physics to talented youngsters who were taken in Tolyatti from South Ossetia, in Central Russia. Only a little later he was taken to view in "Rubin" and Ivan Danilyants decided to enroll him in a boarding school. Kazan believed in him. His allocated technique, coordination, speed of decision-making, understanding of the game. Lacked physics from-for what a long time he played mostly on "clean balls." In this regard, it has grown significantly in recent years. Plus he was lucky to find his team: in CSKA at the time of his transition was a radical restructuring of the composition. Just as was taught to play the Togliatti Academy, who gave a ticket to great football a lot of guys: Zobnina, Kutepova, Dzagoev, Morozov, Margasova... a cluster of patients who have received a good football education. At the same time, I want to draw attention to the fact that Akhmetov is a responsible guy. It is clear that studying on an individual schedule, but appears at the Academy much more often than some students who have achieved much less success in football. Today here I passed the exam on the theory and methods of teaching basic sports "excellent". I'm very happy for him. All different develops football fate. I knew him from work in Togliatti, when he was unclaimed, like many other young, talented Russian players. Poloz did not play in Lokomotiv, Erokhin did not sign a contract with the railwaymen for the release of the club school. And there are a lot of such guys. It's great they're making their way. After all, at such moments, when it seems that you are not needed, it is very easy to break.
