Sports and artistic gymnastics are gaining momentum in Tatarstan, and, most likely, you did not even know about it. There are already eight schools in the Republic, and in Kazan to get into the section, even commercial, becomes a real test.
The most interesting that this mass character has no obvious explanation. Kazan has not hosted major international tournaments in gymnastics (the exception is the world Cup in rhythmic gymnastics, held every year), as in the case of swimming and the world Cup 2015, and in the sport there are not so many people, because of which children will run to the training. Well, if you remember Aliya Mustafina. Very well, if you know the Averin sisters. And just space, if you can tell which one is Dean and which is Arina. In any case, this is not the level of Alina Zagitova and Evgenia Medvedeva, who after Pyeongchang brought hundreds of children to the figure skating section.
"BUSINESS Online" contacted Lyubov Botova-associate Professor and head of the Department of theory and methodology of gymnastics in the Volga region Academy of sports, and tried to find out what attracts children and their parents.
TWO SCHEMES
It's Saturday. Noon. At the gymnastics centre does go to classes. The coach, a man of 30 years, low and with a powerful torso, in turn raises children, so that they could catch hold of the crossbar and hang on it.
Botova watching the training and explains what the hard work of the coach.
"In gymnastics at the stage of sports specialization in one or two hours you will not do anything. Training lasts at least three to four hours. The only way to get around a few shells – she says, pointing to all sorts of mats, rungs and tracks that are located in the hall. – And that the child has learned the exercise, it has to be like this to raise, hold and move".
Imagine the situation: we need to teach children to perform flips. What is the best way to do it?
The simplest and completely unprofessional option is to say: "do a somersault." A little more difficult-to perform the element and give repeat. In fact, and in another case the children I work with elementary level training. But the key here is "somehow". In the worst case, there may be injuries. You guys can see, to represent him, but do not realize. Their brains are not able to adjust the muscles to the correct rotation, setting of the legs and landing. Therefore, the coach must spend a lot of time on the lead – up exercises and ultimately-to take everyone in his arms, insure, scroll yourself and thus give the correct motor experience.
For example, in a group of ten children. More than one coach can not control. They're seven. The weight of each is about 20 pounds. At a minimum, they perform five approaches. You can calculate the total weight of the coach. And that's only one in four shells for girls and one in six for boys. Without this – literally and figuratively-the load can not do. The love of Nikolaevna, as it is called passing by trainers, ready to explain why. She draws two diagrams. The first is two parallel lines. This gymnast, who laid the right technical Foundation and was given the opportunity to move in a straight line.
The second-two lines that originate in the same place as the first, but go to the left and right sides. This is a gymnast who had technical errors at the first level. With the transition to the second stage, they became even more tangible. And more. And more. So, made "somehow" flip in one turn has affected two turnovers, and three, and ultimately brought down the athlete on course for medals. Cons for technical execution more and more injuries above, the ability to add a turn around the longitudinal axis is not.
One of the priorities of the Volga region Academy is to prevent the second option by training current and future coaches. Almost all the specialists who work in the gymnastics center are somehow connected with the Academy. They either study, or have already graduated, or undergo refresher courses on the basis of the institution. The Academy also helps the educational and scientific center: any child can be examined and get detailed information about their condition.
"I often repeat that science can not be without practice, and practice – without science, – says Botova. - Our students can realize themselves not only as athletes, but also as coaches. They see how the process is built by existing specialists, and in parallel receive education. It is very valuable for children".
The need for highly qualified coaches in sports and rhythmic gymnastics will always be, and now there is some competition among University graduates. There are so many people in Kazan who want to study that they simply do not have enough seemingly huge areas of the gymnastics center – an object that was built on the eve of the Universiade 2013. If earlier the "rush hour" for children was observed after 18 hours (parents, after finishing work, took the children and took them to training), now – after four. There is nowhere to move further, so recently some training began to be held in the early morning.
"THE CHILD IS SMALL, AND A LARGE HALL»
In 2018, 1863 children were engaged in gymnastics at the center, according to the Volga region Academy. These are representatives of SDYUSSHOR "Privolzhanka", DYUSSH on gymnastics and acrobatics and commercial school of the Olympic champion Yulia Barsukova. Some of the children are periodically engaged in the Central stadium, but there are no all the necessary additional shells.
In addition, 700 students trained at the center. 163 of them have gymnastics-a profile view, all the rest – an obligatory part of physical education classes. As a rule, they take the morning and afternoon, the least popular. The most vacant slots are for children of preschool and school age, who in the current conditions are forced to pass a competition even for Commerce. Speaking about the reasons for such mass character, Botova noted that gymnastics has always been practiced in Tatarstan. Kazan youth school, now sports school "First", was founded in the pre-war years. And now there are eight schools in five cities in the Republic. For comparison: in the Samara region there are only three schools, in Penza – two.
"Gymnastics is loved in Tatarstan," concludes Lyubov. She is a graduate of the Chelny school. When she was an active athlete, the national team of the auto-award in gymnastics almost in full strength became the national team of Tatarstan and participated in the all-Russian competitions, won medals. Great merit in this, according to Botov, coach Andrei Kopylov. He showed by his example that a good coach will always be able to grow good athletes, even if he does not have enough shells, tools, connections.
"Previously, a lot of people worked for the idea," says Botova with a small note of nostalgia. Gymnastics, in her opinion, was generally always budget-sports almost 100%, art already less. Now both types of pay increases in the sector. On the one hand, this is probably one of the stages of development. The only way to get close to the American model, where the money from beginners gymnasts contain those who participate in major competitions. On the other hand, there are negative aspects. Parents translate the activities in the scope of services and asked: "Why my child has no medals?"for the first year of training. They made an investment and expect the result, forgetting that this sport has many advantages and without reference to the result.
If we talk about rhythmic gymnastics, it is the ability to properly present yourself and keep beautiful in public. Most often parents choose this section, as Botova says, because "they want their girl to be beautiful". They watch competitions, see a beautiful image, beautiful bathing suits, elements and want to put all this in the child.
Sports, in turn, develops physical qualities and, among other things, forms the correct posture. It is no coincidence that many titled athletes – for example, Elena Isinbayeva – began in gymnastics, and the all-Russian Federation has chosen the motto "Start with us and become whoever you want." "We can say this is a way of orientation in different sports, – said Botova. - Parents are children not so much on the gymnastics itself, but for the initial development". Therefore, recently in Kazan, and in all Russia recently there is a course "Developing gymnastics". It is for children from three to five years. Training lasts only an hour and is of a General nature. Then children, if they want to stay, are already distributed between sports and art.
If the child is stocky, strong, sinewy, he will certainly be sent to gymnastics. If he, according to Botova, has a "long and thin backbone", as well as high mobility, he has a place in art. But sometimes the first impression is deceptive. Children who are suitable in all respects, may not meet expectations, and those who initially did not expect, on the contrary, are able to show a good result. It all depends, sure Botovo, from "fire in the eyes".
"How can this fire be lit? It's very simple, " she says. - The child is small and the hall is large. Mats, mats, bridges, horses, shells, foam pits and trampolines. All colored. You can touch and feel everything. It's interesting. To keep this feeling, children in the early stages are not heavily loaded. If you immediately start to pull to disgrace, of course, the child will say " Well, your gymnastics! I better get on the ball!»
But it is important to remember that sooner or later this introductory stage will end. Gymnastics, sports, art, it's hard. It's opening hours in the hall. This is intense and sometimes tough competition. Without serious work and demanding of yourself here to achieve nothing. At the same time, the stereotype that gymnastics is a traumatic sport is not always true. "The injuries we have, of course, are, from it nobody is insured, but if you build correctly the training process, lead the athlete to complex elements using the system lead-in exercises, take into account the biomechanical principles of the technique, paying attention to recovery, the injury can be minimized as much as possible," – says Lubov.
WILL THERE BE MEDALS?Gymnasts have three critical periods. A number of players have to cope with them, a part is eliminated.
The first-admission to school. "Children more or less understand their sports orientation and can change the look," explains Botova.
The second is the transition from primary to secondary school. Then gymnasts are approaching the first adult category and begin to work in full. In gymnastics, for example, at this age begin to learn the elements of an arbitrary program of gymnastics. Also, there are the first changes in the character. Sports gymnasts think in the paradigm of the executed elements: you know how to make a complex element – well done, do not know – not well done (especially manifested in boys). Gymnasts-artists learn to compensate for shortcomings in a way, choreography, mood, to be a good fellow, even when it is not so.
The third period-seventh-eighth grade. Puberty (puberty) is difficult because children can vary greatly in weight and height. In gymnastics, any extra centimeter or kilogram leads to a change of levers and center of gravity. It is necessary to choose other system of preparation.
All stages are, of course, a few. "If two or three people remain in the group by the ninth grade, this is a heroic act," Botova says.
Before the most persistent two prospects open up: either to break through to the level of the Russian national team, or to prepare for coaching. In both cases, the doors of the Volga region Academy, which gathers the best gymnasts not only in Tatarstan, but also in other regions, are open to them. So, next year there is a desire to enter the Academy of two gymnasts who claim to get into the adult national team of Russia. Current students Maxim Sinichkin and Alexander Chicherov have a chance, albeit not one hundred percent, to participate in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
"Now the country has a very good male gymnasts, and at all levels: youth, Junior, youth and mostly. Men's gymnastics can be said to be on the rise in Kazan, Zelenodolsk and Nizhnekamsk. Representatives of the Republic are in all compositions of the national team of Russia, - Botova comments. - Girls while a little, although the young stars are also in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Zelenodolsk – the main thing to keep them. Already now our children play in the Junior team of Russia".
Soon there will be the result and there will be medals? The nearest hope is, of course, gymnasts. But they can prevent an incredibly tight competition in the team. The last world championship showed that the Russian team occupies a leading position. In the team championship, our team lost by a negligible 0.05 points to the Chinese team, and in the overall standings Arthur Dalaloyan won the gold medal. The last time the Russians won the tournament was 19 years ago. With this competition, Tatarstan Sinichkin and Chicherov are fighting for getting into the Olympic team in 2020. "I would like to in the next two years they and their coaches all turned out," says bots.
Classes at the center are over. A group of children walking down the hall to meet their parents. One boy literally step behind the overall system.
Where's yours?!"- the coach, a student of the Academy, said in a strict but kind voice.
The boy seemed to be frightened, immediately found a mate, returned to the ranks and smiled in response to the smile of the coach.
"Discipline - commented on the scene Lyubov. - Without it in our business not to succeed".
