Weekend women's national team of Volga region Academy for basketball played at its home court two games against super League ASB team "University-Ugra". Both meetings our students won.
The first game ended with more than a convincing 41-point advantage of the hosts (93:52). And again the most effective in the "academics" was Elizabeth Zaitseva (21 points, 5 interceptions, 6 rebounds). A significant contribution to the victory was made by Alina Novikova (18 points, 5 attacking assists, 9 rebounds) - together with Zaitseva, who plays for the professional club "Kazanochka" - and Karina Peremena (14 points, 13 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 attacking assists).
In the second meeting, the guests managed to impose a struggle on Natalia Kuleshova's wards. As a result, at the end of 40 minutes the score on the scoreboard was 74:65 in favor of the hostesses. In this meeting from 74 points of "academicians" 50 on the account of Alina Novikova (26) and Daria Arkhangelsk (24).
In the standings the team of the Academy divides in the area of "East" 1-2 place with a team of GOU SPO "College of Olympic reserve in the Perm Krai".  Both teams have 7 wins and one loss. Recall that from the zone, only two teams will continue to fight for the title of super League Champions.
The championship of the SUPER League of ASB leaves on a new year break. The following matches "academics" hold on 15-16 January in Tjumen against the national team of the Tyumen industrial University "Guards".
Coach of the Academy team Natalia Kuleshova evaluated the results of the team's performance in the first half of the season:
- I am pleased with the result as a whole, and the end of the season turned out to be positive. We have declared ourselves, I think we can go to the four. We have four games left – in Tyumen and Yekaterinburg, against the Ural state economic University.  They should achieve results. But we have new year holidays ahead of us, for which the team leaves on December 25. And already on January 4 we will resume trainings, and on January 13 we will go to Tyumen. In the last games it was felt that the team was tired. I think the rest will be good for the girls.
But the men's team of the Academy this weekend took in the student League VTB team of Tyumen state oil and gas University, "Guard-TIU". And lost twice (75:67 and 68:76).
Until the end of the year "academics" will spend another four games: against Udgu-of sshor of-3 from Izhevsk (December 21-22) and the Ural Federal University-Uralmash Ekaterinburg (26-27 December). And all - at the home site.
