At the beginning of the week, the women's basketball team of the Volga region Academy held two meetings of the championship of the Association of student basketball (ASB) within the Kazan division, the winner of which will represent our city in the Belov League.
The rival of our students in these meetings was the national team of kspeu, as well as ... the second team of the Volga Academy, composed, according to the mentor of "academicians" Natalia Kuleshova, mainly from freshmen. In both meetings, the main team of the Academy won convincing victories (97:50 and 90:35).
The next matches of the season the Academy team will hold on December 15-16: in the super League ACB will host "University-Ugra". At the moment, our team takes the first place in the standings with five wins and one defeat. For the first time in a season academicians lost in the first of two house duels of SUPER League of ASB against the Perm College of the Olympic reserve" (81:108). It was said that the opponents acted in these matches in too harsh a manner. It seems that this level of resistance "academician" this season has not had to face. But in the next match, the wards of Natalia Kuleshova demonstrated that they can take a shot and adapt to any tactics of the opponent. Kazan students gave the fight to the Perm guests, confidently playing in defense and not losing in the power game. 92:79 in favor of the hosts – this is the result of the second match. The most productive in this meeting of the "academicians" were Elizaveta Zaitseva (31 points, 12 rebounds, 4 attacking passes) and Karina Peremenina (22 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists).
It should be noted that in this meeting on the side of the Volga Academy team there was a powerful support of the hall. The men's team of the University came to cheer for the girls, the guys brought a branded drum, painted in the colors of the Academy. The thunder of the drum and the chants of the fans drove the team forward till the final siren. I want to believe that in the next home matches the Academy teams will receive the same impressive support.
