As part of the tournament, a campaign was held to collect gifts totaling more than 100 thousand rubles for the Department of abandoned children of the children's hospital of the city hospital №18. Active participation in the organization and holding of the tournament was taken by students of the faculty of sports of the Volga Academy, studying at the Taekwondo Department.
The tournament "give to children tomorrow" was held in the open championship of the Soviet district of Kazan in Taekwondo. It was organized by the Taekwondo Federation, which is headed by the teacher of the Volga region Academy of sport Alexey Kaplev. He was attracted to the organization and conduct of the tournament as judges 17 students thekvondist. Gifts (clothes, toys, etc.) for children left without parents were collected by mothers and fathers of young athletes. The money bought even printer for the office. All the collected items handed to the head of the Department Tatiana Moroz.
It is worth noting that some of the students who helped Alexey Kaplev in the Saturday charity tournament, on Wednesday in the Kama Fields fought for the medals of the championship of the Republic of Taekwondo. As a result, on the account of "academicians" seven medals – four silver (Bulat Nigmetzyanov, Valery Demidov, Vladislav Sviridov and Roman Zaitsev) and three bronze (Gleb Khomyakov, Camilla Movlieva and Danila Danilov).
And two more first-year students of the Volga Academy as part of the Udmurtia national team took part in the Russian Taekwondo championship in Makhachkala on October 19-20 among people with musculoskeletal disorders. Rinat Yakupov took second place, Evgeny Kalaev – fifth. Accompanied athletes on a trip to Makhachkala as the representative of Federation of physical culture and sports of disabled people from POD of the Udmurt Republic, the fourth-year student of the Volga region Academy Andrey Kuznetsov.
