In Kazan, the Central stadium hosted the Russian team championship in athletics all-around. At the end of the competition the women's team Republic of Tatarstan took the second place, the representative of Tatarstan Maria Pavlova scored the most points in the heptathlon – 5925. 
The composition of each of the teams in the tournament were four men and four women (a total of 96 athletes). The men competed in the decathlon (running 100 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meters run, 110 meters hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, 1500 metres run), women in the heptathlon (running 100 meters hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meters run, long jump, javelin, running 800 metres). The best team in the team standings was determined by the sum of the results of the three best men and three best women.
As part of the men's team at the tournament was a student of the Volga Academy Sergey Braynin. On the first day of the championship, he took part in competitions in five types of decathlon, but because of the injury failed to continue the performance the next day. In addition, the championship served as judges professors of the Department of theory and methodology of cyclic kinds of sports Sergey Borovik, Marat Gibadullin and Dmitriy Mostakov. Together with them were judged athletics starts and more than 10 students of the Academy, for whom work at the tournament of this rank was an excellent opportunity to improve professional skills and improve the judicial categories.
