The admission campaign to higher educational institutions of the country started the other day. In anticipation of this event, applicants-veterans of the SVO got acquainted with the infrastructure of the Volga Region in person.

The branch of the State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" in the Republic of Tatarstan provides support to veterans of the special military operation in employment and training. As part of this program, four applicants visited the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism to get acquainted with the infrastructure of a possible place of study.

Adelia Pavlova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation, showed the guests classrooms, gyms, information and resource center, student media center, computer club and much more.
Larisa Parfenova, Head of the Department of Adaptive Physical Culture, spoke about the adaptive physical education halls and the specifics of the APC direction.

— Before military service, I was involved in track and field, and later switched to sledge hockey. My coach is a teacher at Povolzhsky University, and this also influenced my choice of university. I had already decided that I would enroll here, so I came to this excursion with a full package of documents to submit, — said Denis Davletkildin, one of the veterans. — A player’s time in hockey is not unlimited, and I would like to continue working as a teacher or coach to pass on my experience and knowledge. I really liked the university’s infrastructure, everything is top-notch. Especially the computer club — I play and am interested in eSports. The fact that there are opportunities for development in any field is definitely a big plus in favor of choosing Volga region university for further education.
