The long-awaited gala concert of the jubilee V regional ethno-cultural student festival “Iҗat asha tynychlyk hәm berdәmlekkә - Creativity of peace and harmony” was held at the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism today.
- The main goal of the festival is to involve students in the cultural life of our vast homeland. Representatives of 78 regions of Russia study at Povolzhsky University alone, and this number only grows every year. It is pleasant to see today the rectors of the universities participating in the festival, as well as the consuls general of friendly countries, who gladly accepted our invitation to the gala concert. Cultural and sports activities unite,” Rafis Burganov, Rector of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism, welcomed the guests of the ethno-festival.
The anniversary festival is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. More than 500 students from 20 universities took part in the festival this year. The participants reflected their love for the nation and glorified its courage in choreographic, vocal and poetic numbers. 29 creative numbers were recognized by the jury with prizes and ten with special awards.
This year the number of competitive tests increased - there was a new direction “Fashion Theater”. Participants in the format of a theatrical performance demonstrated clothing collections based on folk traditions and reflecting the beauty and diversity of ethnic fashion. New nominations were introduced: stylized folklore and pop dance, which unite tradition and modernity and help to enrich culture with fresh interpretations.
Rinat Sadykov, Minister of Youth of Tatarstan, and Albert Gilmutdinov, Assistant to the Rais of Tatarstan, conducted the awarding of students in the “Fashion Theater” and “Artistic Word” categories.
- Today is an important day in the life of students of the Republic of Tatarstan. For the fifth time we are witnessing how a big holiday unites representatives of different nationalities and different confessions. This once again confirms that in the Republic of Tatarstan different nations have lived in friendship for many centuries. Our young people need to preserve this good tradition. It is important to note that the speeches are dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Young people should preserve and pass on the historical truth of those events, know what price the country paid to live in harmony today, - said Rinat Sadykov.
Azat Abzalov, Head of the Culture Department of the Kazan Executive Committee, presented awards to students in Choreography and Vocal.
- Today students on stage speak the language of art about friendship and harmony in the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia. The Year of the Defender of the Fatherland is a landmark year. There is a lot of work behind the creativity. I wish the students happiness and success in their studies, labor and creativity, - Azat Abzalov congratulated the students.
The winners and prize-winners of the jubilee ethno-cultural student festival in the team competition were awarded by the Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of Tatarstan on Education, Culture, Science and National Issues Airat Zaripov.
- I am glad that our universities pay much attention to the preservation of interethnic culture and traditional values. Let the talent, creativity and energy of students serve the development of the Republic of Tatarstan,” Airat Zaripov addressed the festival participants.
Speaking to journalists, he also noted the special importance of holding such events in the republic.
- It is very important to preserve national and cultural traditions. The Republic of Tatarstan is characterized by tolerance, friendship of peoples, and only by holding such events as the ethno-cultural student festival it is possible to develop them. People of different nationalities should know each other's culture and customs to make it easier to live together and be friends,” emphasized Airat Zaripov.
According to the results of the competition in the overall team standings, the "bronze" of the competition-festival was won by the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University. The honorable second place was awarded to the Kazan State Institute of Culture. The absolute winner of the festival was the Volga State University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism.
