The final of the Spartakiade of Universities of the Republic of Tatarstan in football took place on the field of the Burevestnik educational and sports complex. In the decisive match, the Volga Region University team met the team of Kazan National Research Technological University, which managed to beat Kazan Aviation Institute and Kazan Federal University. But it was not possible to overpower the hosts of the field, who spent the whole tournament without a single defeat.
"The Volga Region University team is the leader of student football not only in the republic, but also in Russia. We are multiple champions of the Student Football League of the Republic of Tatarstan, winners and bronze medallists of the Russian Championship, and last season we played with two national teams in the National Student Football League," commented Valery Pokaninov, Head of the Football and Hockey Department. - This time the Spartakiade went smoothly and confidently. In the final games showed character and quality game, than confirmed the leading positions. This victory directly gives us a ticket to the finals of the All-Russian division, which will be held in autumn, and meanwhile we continue to prepare for the first round of the National Student Football League - it will be held in Tambov in June".
