A delegation from the Consulate General of China in Kazan - Ms Liu Xuejiao, Consul for Education, and Mr Feng Zhengyang, Consul Attache - visited the Volga Region University of Sports.
As part of the official visit, a tour of the university was organised for the guests. It was conducted by Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities Andrey Nazarenko.
The consuls were introduced to the educational, scientific, methodological and sports activities of the university.
Mrs Liu Xuejiao noted the equipment of the university, modern classrooms and gyms. All this, according to the Consul, allows to train good specialists.
"China and Russia are traditional sports powers. Co-operation in this sphere has many years and our leaders pay great attention to it," the guest said at the meeting with Azat Sharapov, the first vice-rector of the Volga Region University.
The Consul recalled that during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia, it was announced that expansion of co-operation in the humanitarian and sports spheres as priority areas between the two countries.
"Youth is the future of our countries, so it is necessary to strengthen exchanges between young people so that good neighbourliness and friendship are passed from generation to generation," Ms Liu Xuejiao added.
She also said that the Consulate General is ready to work with the university to further promote co-operation with universities in China, including agreed to help establish contacts with Beijing Sports University.
Let us remind you that on 27 September Volga Region Sports University signed an agreement on cooperation in education and science with Chengdong Sports University.
A student from China is currently taking Russian language courses at the Institute of Further Education. In a year's time, he will enrol for a bachelor's degree in sports.
