The delegation of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism headed by Rector Rafis Burganov is on a working visit to China. The purpose of the visit is to visit Chengdu Sports University and develop specific areas of activity of the universities to form a plan of joint co-operation. Let us remind you that at the end of September this year an agreement on mutual cooperation was signed, which involves the organisation of joint educational and scientific projects.

The programme of the visit includes visits to the Museum of Sports History, School of History and Culture, College of Arts, College of Physical Education, School of Sports Training, Wushu Academy, Academy of Football, Sports and Leisure College, Academy of Sport and Recreation, Office of National Cooperation, Communication College, College of Foreign Languages, as well as the Institute of Sports Medicine and Health.

Chengdu Sports University is the sports university with the longest history in China. The university is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

The university has established a sports-oriented teaching system with a combination of sports medicine and sports literature, and a disciplinary model with "physical education and sports medicine as the main focus, and interdisciplinary coordinated development as a complementary focus".

At present, there are 22 undergraduate majors covering 7 disciplines including education, medicine, literature, management, economics, art and history in China's higher education institution. Among them, physical education, sports training, wushu and ethnic traditional sports, social sports leadership and management, journalism, human movement science, sports rehabilitation and tourism management are approved as national first-class specialities.

At present, Chengdu University has more than 11,000 students, including more than 9,600 undergraduates and more than 1,500 postgraduates, and employs more than 1,300 teachers.

The Chinese university is the key sports medicine laboratory of Sichuan Province, the key sports medicine laboratory of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China and the key archery laboratory of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China.

Chengdu Sports University is an institution of higher education approved by the Ministry of Education to admit overseas Chinese students from Chinese Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. CDSU has established exchange and co-operation relationships with more than 30 universities and research institutes in 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, Thailand, Chinese Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and established "2+2", "3+1" and "3+1+1+1" joint undergraduate and graduate training systems with many famous universities.
