Volga Region University solemnly welcomed first-year students – a festive line-up dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was held. The first to cross the threshold of the university as students were bachelors. The honorary right to raise the flags of Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan and Volga Region University was given to first-year students Leysan Gabdrakhmanova, Matvey Zanin and Dim Saifullin.
- We are very pleased that first-year students from all over the country have joined our friendly university family. I hope that we will reach the same composition, some to the end of the bachelor's degree and admission to the master's program, and some, perhaps, will stay in graduate school. I wish you a great mood - for this, our university has created all the conditions: for study, science, creativity and sports. Here you will be able to develop communication skills that will help you in your future work both with small children in schools and with adults in the tourism industry. The guests of honor at the festive line-up for bachelors were the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Tatarstan for Tourism Anastasia Sofyina.
- Today is probably the most important step for you, dear first-year students, and your loved ones, because you have made a choice and found yourself on a ship called "Volga Region University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism". It is truly the flagship university of our country today. I am not afraid of this word, one of the best universities of sports and tourism in the world. But the most important thing at the university is the students. I believe that today the university has the best educational, scientific and sports infrastructure. Therefore, as the classic said: study, study and study again, - Vladimir Leonov greeted the newly minted students.
Anastasia Sofyina noted that the first day at the university is one of the most significant days that will remain in the memory for a long time. According to her, the true value in life is loved ones, because they support, protect and guide. She expressed confidence that everyone present will definitely succeed.
The directors of the institutes also made welcoming remarks. They wished the students success in their studies, sports and creativity, and also noted that it is important to set the right priorities and focus primarily on gaining knowledge.
Volga Region University comprehensively supports student initiatives, providing platforms for the implementation of their bright ideas. Students take an active part in various projects, competitions and scientific research. The chairman of the university student council Artem Andrianov and the chairmen of the student councils of the institutes Maria Shamsutdinova, Diana Guzova and Artem Morev told the first-year students about the bright life of activists.
The Volga Region University also welcomed the college's first-year students and held a festive line-up for them. The honorary right to raise the flags was given to Sofia Zhukova, Muhammad-Ali Khairullin and Parviz Umarov.
- I think that this year will go down in the history of our college as a record year for the number of people wishing to enroll in the SPO department. In some areas, up to 30 people applied for one place. Therefore, the most worthy are here. I wish you success in your studies, sports, creativity, science and, of course, in friendship, - emphasized Rafis Burganov, addressing the first-year students of the college.
The guest of honor at the assembly for the Day of Knowledge for first-year college students was the deputy chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kazan Executive Committee, Rishat Ibatullin, who also congratulated the new students on the Day of Knowledge.
Alsu Zheltyakova, the director of the college of the Volga Region University, gave a welcoming speech and also introduced the teachers of the SPO department to the first-year students.
- Dear students, all of you have done an excellent job this summer with your first important tests - you have successfully passed the state final certification, passed the competitive selection and have become part of the large family of the Volga Region University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism. Good luck! - she said to the college's first-year students.
It is worth noting that this academic year, Volga Region University accepted 1,265 first-year college, bachelor's and master's students, who will continue to improve and master their profession within its walls.
