From 7 to 22 September 2023, employees of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism underwent a comprehensive screening examination. Workplace screening was organised with the support of the Republican Centre for Public Health and Medical Prevention within the framework of the National Project "Demography" and the Federal Project "Strengthening Public Health".
According to Alfiya Badrutdinova, head of the university's health protection organisation department, such screenings are conducted to identify risk factors for diseases and develop a long-term corporate programme "Strengthening the health of employees".
"Within the framework of the project, university employees are provided with express blood tests for cholesterol and glucose, ECG, blood pressure measurement, comprehensive detailed assessment of respiratory system functions, measurement of intraocular pressure, determination of body composition by bioimpedanceometry method, measurement of height, weight, consultation by a general practitioner.
The corporate programme will include a set of preventive, health-improving, socio-economic and other measures aimed at preserving and strengthening the health of employees, improving their working capacity and quality of life, forming a healthy lifestyle," said Alfiya Badrutdinova.
According to her, the programme is aimed at preventing diseases, risk factors for which are low physical activity, overweight, smoking, unhealthy diet, high blood pressure.
"This is an interesting experience for the university. The educational institution, as an employer, is interested in the health, professional longevity of its employees. Thank you to the university management, the Republican Centre for Public Health and Medical Prevention for the opportunity to participate in such a project," summed up the head of the health protection department of the sports university of Tatarstan.
