Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, during his working visit to Tatarstan, together with the Head of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov, took part in the opening of the Centre for Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry, created within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry". The Centre was opened on the basis of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The guests toured the Centre's new premises, including a digital studio, and heard a report on its creation and work. Funding for the project for 2023-2024 from the federal budget totalled more than 200 million rubles.
"The President of Russia has called staff training one of the priorities, the tourism sector is no exception. Within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" we are already creating new resorts and tourist facilities. Therefore, the task of training qualified specialists is significant for the development of the domestic tourism industry and ensuring high quality of service at existing and future resorts," said the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
"Formation of the system of training and development of human resources potential of tourism and hospitality workers is one of the priority tasks of the industry. Every year in Tatarstan there is an increase in tourist flow. According to the results of 2023, the tourist flow was about 4 million people, and these figures will continue to grow. Therefore, it is very important to provide quality service. Since the opening of the Centre, the first group of specialists from neighbouring regions of the country has already been trained," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
In 2024, teams from 21 regions of the country will be trained at the Centre under the programme "Tourism Territory Development Management: Project Approach".
Dmitry Chernyshenko also chaired a meeting on the implementation of the Kazan Marina investment project with an investment volume of over RUB 21 billion in the Laishevsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan. A full-cycle yacht marina is expected to be the key facility for the development of the future year-round resort. The project masterplan was developed by Tourism.RF Corporation and approved last year by the Corporation's Board of Directors and the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"I know that the Government of Tatarstan actively supports the project, and the Head of the Republic has personally approved it. "Kazan Marina" will be the first tourist centre with a full-cycle marina on the Volga River built in the last 30 years. The project indicators will contribute to the implementation of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry". "By 2030, the expected tourist and excursion flow of Kazan Marina will exceed 620,000 people per year, almost 2,000 jobs and more than 1,250 rooms will be created," said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government.
"We have formed nine investment lots. We are actively working with investors. In the second quarter of this year we plan to create special project companies to carry out design and survey works and construction of infrastructure facilities on the territory of the future resort", - said Sergey Sukhanov, General Director of Tourism.RF Corporation.
Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed to develop a training programme for new federal resorts, including the needs of the future Kazan Marina resort and the Republic of Tatarstan as a whole, on the basis of the Competence Centre as part of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry National Project.
He added that the tourist flow to Tatarstan in 2023 was about 4 million people, which is comparable to the population of the entire republic. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is facilitated by the region's participation in the National Project activities. Thus, last year 817 million rubles from the federal budget was allocated for the development of tourism within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry", including the creation of infrastructure, equipping beaches, holding events and designing a tourist code of the city of Kazan in the Old Tatar Sloboda and in Yelabuga.
In the presence of Dmitry Chernyshenko and Rustam Minnikhanov, agreements of intent for the implementation of investment lots of the Kazan Marina project were signed between JSC Corporation Turizm.RF and the investors - Laishevo Yacht Club LLC and Kamskaya Riviera Management Company LLC.
The Games of the Future will start on 21 February 2024, and branded tours and excursions for guests of the event have already been created, developed by the State Tourism Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan together with tour operators of the republic. Tatarstan's guests are offered 4 variants of one-day programmes and 3 variants of two- and three-day tours during the "Games of the Future" tournament.
