The winner of the All-Russian WKF karate competition was a student of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism.
The traditional tournament gathered about 1100 athletes from 32 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the Republic of Belarus.
Ilya Savin, a third-year student of the Institute of Sport, climbed to the top step of the podium in the "Eagle Cup" in the 60 kg weight category.
In the final fight he defeated the representative of the team of the Republic of Dagestan.
Bronze awards were won by athletes from the Moscow and Tula regions.
