The best flight attendant, bike traveler, polyglot... So different, but so friendly. And they all have one thing in common - a love of teaching and the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism.
On the eve of Higher School Teacher's Day, the rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rafis Burganov, launched a new tradition - to hold warm meetings “without ties” with institute teams, where everyone can ask any question. The series of meetings was opened by the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism.
The event began with a festive tea party, congratulations and presentation of departmental awards. Thus, the director of the institute, Rezeda Khadiullina, was awarded the gratitude of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation for her significant contribution to the development of the field of physical culture and sports and in connection with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the state governing body in the field of physical culture and sports, and the gratitude of the rector of the Volga Region University for the effective and the fruitful work in organizing the admission of applicants in 2023 was awarded to the head of the department of service and tourism Maria Vesloguzova, associate professor of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines Yulia Shabalina, associate professor of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines Alik Salimov.
The history of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism Institute began on August 1, 2013 at the moment when the Faculty of Service and Tourism was created through the reorganization of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports, Service and Tourism. September 1, 2021 - the International Institute itself is created.
The Institute unites five departments, including three graduate departments (Department of Service and Tourism, Department of Economics and Port Management, Department of Information Systems, Technologies and Cybersport) and two general education departments (Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics).
Full-time teachers are experts in various fields: in tourism, management, WorldSkills, MBA programmes, members of FUMO, competitions of various levels.
"The International Institute was established not so long ago, but a lot has already been done", - Rector of the university Rafis Burganov assessed with gratitude for the labour, addressing the staff. He noted that serious tasks are set before the institute and it is difficult to achieve results without well-coordinated work.
"The university is a research centre of the Russian Academy of Education, a methodological platform of the Ministry of Education, we participate in many serious educational programmes. Our task is to educate a generation that will stay in the industry and leave a mark," the rector emphasised.
Rezeda Khadiullina, Director of the Institute, also congratulated her colleagues on the upcoming holiday.
“Teaching often becomes not just a profession, but becomes a lifestyle. Very often we transfer our teaching qualities into everyday life because we become so accustomed to this role that we completely devote ourselves to the profession. It is very important not to lose yourself, not to burn out, to learn to leave yourself to your children, family, hobbies, and only in this case we will be able to receive joy and satisfaction from our work and profession for a long time, and then everything in our life will be harmonious: work, family , hobbies, creativity and sports,” noted the director of the Institute.
At the meeting, each head of the department spoke about his employees, revealed interesting facts not only related to work, but also to his personal life, hobbies, and past work experience. Each participant in the meeting had the opportunity to ask the rector a question and receive an answer immediately.
On behalf of all colleagues, the director of the Institute thanked the head for the opportunity to gather in an unusual format and have a heart-to-heart talk.
“On the eve of Teacher’s Day, on behalf of the entire staff of our Institute, we would like to thank you, Rafis Timerkhanovich, for everything you do for us. You support all our initiatives, give us the opportunity to realize ourselves in a variety of directions and develop. We feel your concern for us every day. Thank you for the meeting, for the fact that we can get to know each other better like this, in an informal setting, and this will unite us even more,” concluded Rezeda Khadiullina.
The meeting ended with group photography with smiles on their faces.
