Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism held the first International Scientific and Practical Conference “In the Language of Science”. Its participants were students of the departments of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, Information Systems and Fijital Sports, as well as the Department of German-Romanic Philology of the North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybaev.

Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism of Volga Region University Sergey Druzhkov welcomed the participants of the conference and wished them new, bright discoveries. He emphasized that there are no passing events in the university, including conferences - all events are always informative and significant. Olga Lyubyagina, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Fijital Sports, also supported the students.

The moderator of the conference - Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics Zoya Pavitskaya expressed her deep gratitude to the Head of the Department of Germanic-Romanic Philology Maira Kakimova for the support and active participation of students of the North Kazakhstan University in scientific and educational events held by the University of Sports and Tourism.

- I am glad that we can take part in such an interesting conference where students of our universities can share their scientific research, exchange experience and opinions. Today's conference popularizes scientific activities among young people. I believe that joint events contribute to further integration of our cooperation in different aspects,” emphasized Maira Kakimova.

The students presented 18 reports in Russian and English on philology, information technologies and sports. Among the issues considered were: the peculiarities and difficulties of learning foreign languages, the introduction of social networks and information technologies into the learning process, the impact of digital sports on the younger generation, as well as the development of programming languages and the digital sphere.

The conference started with the reports of Alena Starkova, a lecturer of the Department of Germanic-Romanic Philology and Ksenia Aristova, a student of the University of Sport. They told about the directions and results of the activities of student scientific societies and circles in universities.

- Student scientific circles contribute to the personal growth of students and their professional realization. The participants not only get acquainted with science and study disciplines in depth, but also exchange experience both among themselves and with teachers and supervisors. Participants of the scientific circle “Axia” participate in translation competitions, the All-Russian Olympiad “I am a professional”, the competition of research and scientific-practical works for personal scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan and many other competitions and projects. In addition, students publish their articles in conference collections, make presentations at conferences and receive, in my opinion, deservedly good feedback from experts,” said Ksenia Aristova, Chairperson of the student scientific circle of Volga Region University ‘Axia’.

Zoya Pavitskaya emphasized that it is impossible to overestimate the activities of student scientific associations, because in them students develop skills of scientific research, critical thinking and teamwork.

A relevant topic in the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was raised by Ekaterina Sevtsova, a student of Volga Region University. She made a report “Patriotic education in the system of higher education in the conditions of sports university”, in which she highlighted the patriotic events held by the University of Sport and Tourism.

At the end of the conference plans were outlined to strengthen and develop further cooperation between Volga Region and North Kazakhstan Universities.

- We are grateful for the opportunity to share our experience. Students raised very interesting and important topics, some of them especially caught the students of North Kazakhstan University. And I also learned for myself a lot of new things today. As the person responsible for research work at the Department of Germanic-Romanic Philology, I count on productive cooperation with Volga University and further, - summarized the conference Alena Starkova.
