Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation, congratulated students on the Day of Russian Students. His congratulatory message reads:

Studenthood is the time of bold decisions and confident victories. This is why we organise a large number of sporting events for students and support initiatives aimed at attracting students to regular sporting activities.
On this day, active mass physical education events for students of higher and special educational institutions are held all over Russia. They have become an indispensable attribute of winter and traditionally unite active and sporty students from all over the country.
I am sure that such events are an important part of a rich student life, opening new heights and goals both in sport and in life.
