Andrey Vakhnin, a master's student at the Volga Region University, won bronze at the All-Russian competition among students, which took place in Krasnodar. He competed in the discipline of "classic bow" at a distance of 70 meters 36+36 shots and reached the final, where he came in third.
"The Student Archery Sports League was founded a year ago, so the current competitions were the second, after the debut summer ones. I think this is an important step in the development of student archery. The tournament left a pleasant impression - the weather in Krasnodar was excellent: warm, windless. And even shooting in the evening under the streetlights did not spoil the tournament.
I was pleased with the result - being sixth in the qualification, I was able to climb the podium with "bronze". Remembering the semi-finals, it becomes a little offensive, because in a tense sparring match, the decisive shot of the opponent was a little closer to the center of the target than mine," shared Andrey Vakhnin.
