Natalia Parshikova, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, visited the Federal Rowing Sports and Training Centre on the first of September. Rector of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism Rafis Burganov, accompanied by Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of the university Andrei Nazarenko, Director of the Central State University of Sport and Tourism Andrei Feoktistov and Head of the medical and sanitary unit of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sport of the university Gulnara Yanysheva, acquainted the guest with the material and technical base, the laboratory of biochemical and clinical-diagnostic studies, as well as with the training centre "Hotel "Regata".

Upon completion, Natalia Parshikova admitted that she was impressed by the fact that the facility houses a research institute.

"This base was built for the 2013 World University Games and it fulfilled its task. And it is very pleasant that all of this has found its application in training personnel for the industry," said Natalia Parshikova. - Judging by the technologies I have seen here and the methods used by my colleagues, there is definitely a promising future here. Today I saw the science that I saw in the Soviet times, just that fundamental. I know well our Central Sports University and Lesgaft University, they are certainly our recognised veterans, they are a hundred years old. But the Volga Region University has yet to get this recognition, and in the long term it is quite possible. I think we will be able to help the university in a number of areas that will multiply not only its infrastructure. In general, I am satisfied with what I saw today, it is promising".
