Measuring athletes' functional performance is an important part of an effective training process. In the "Scientific Volga Region" column on our Zen channel, we explore how sports and science combine to achieve better results.

In the new episode, we'll discuss a chair ergometer for assessing leg muscles, which helps analyze the kinematic and dynamic performance of the lower extremities.

The ergometer can track both speed and strength. These measurements are useful in sports where the legs play a significant role: track and field, weightlifting, wrestling, gymnastics, football, hockey, and many others.

It's worth noting that Volga Region University has a unique chair that allows for simultaneous measurements from both legs. This allows us to detect any asymmetries in their function that may develop after an injury.
