Athletes from the Volga Region University took part in the Acrobatic Rock-n-Roll World Cup, which was held in Astana.
Alumna Ellina Kadyrova became the silver medallist of the tournament in the discipline ‘women's formation’ as a member of the Kazakhstan national team. Also Ellina Kadyrova and Bulat Sharafutdinov made it to the semi-finals in the ‘B’ class ‘men's and women's mixed’ discipline.
Foreign students from the Volga Region University also took part in the World Cup: Anastasia Dmitrochenkova and Kourosh Bagheri competed for Iran in the “B” discipline of the “Mixed Men and Women” class.
The teachers of the Gymnastics Theory and Methodology Department Olga Sbitneva and Ivan Yudin became the winners of the tournament in the discipline ‘M’ class ‘men's and women's mixt’.
"We prepared for the competition long and hard. The high result is the joint work of the coaches and the team. When I saw the final score, I felt indescribable joy. We have two more starts ahead, for which we are preparing hard: the World Cup stage in Moscow and the World Championship in Abu Dhabi," said graduate Ellina Kadyrova.
