The Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism hosted the defence of final certification papers of the first graduates of the professional retraining course on the programme "Management of Tourism Territory Development: Project Approach".

Teams from Tatarstan, Samara region and Bashkiria were trained in the first stream. By the end of the course they presented their projects.

The team from the Samara region presented the tourist and recreational cluster "Samarskaya Luka", representatives of Bashkiria defended the project entitled "Land of Nomads - Feel the Freedom of the Wind", and the Tatarstanis told about the concept of development of the tourist territory "KARAMALKA" in the Kamsko-Ustinsky district of the republic.

All these works were prepared during the training and aimed at the development of tourism in these regions.

The works were assessed by the certification committee, which included Yulia Zheleznyak, Head of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organisation "Project Office Hospitality Workshop", Advisor to the President of the All-National Union of the Hospitality Industry (OSIG), Vladimir Trach, Director of the Department for Implementation of Projects in the Sphere of Tourism Activities of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Adelia Pavlova, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Digital Transformation, Professor of the Department of Service and Tourism of the Volga Region University of Sports, and Anna Malikova, Head of the "Tourism" direction of JSC "Bank DOM.RF". Also present at the defence was Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism.

As it was noted by experts, all projects are interesting, worthy of attention and implementation.

"All of them have bright pluses, but at the same time there is something to work on. The most important thing is not to stop at what has been achieved," said Vladimir Trach, addressing the teams.

Adelia Pavlova, in turn, thanked the trainees for their interest in the course and the projects developed during the training.

"This course is essentially unique. It allows representatives of business, government and society to work together, in one team and develop joint projects. Our experts help to find joint points of growth so that the works turn out to be interesting and attractive from the financial point of view. We suggest what to pay attention to, where to improve the project for its further implementation," she said.

The Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Digital Transformation of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism also informed that next year 21 more teams will be trained in the programme "Management of Tourism Territories Development: Project Approach". The course will start already in January.

"We already have willing participants, now the formation of teams is underway. The Perm Territory, Udmurtia are very keen to join us for training. Also representatives of Mordovia, Ulyanovsk region, Yamalo-Nenets district, Buryatia are also interested," Adelia Pavlova specified.

All graduates receive professional retraining diplomas with the right to work in the field of tourism.

We would like to remind you that training in the programme "Tourism Territory Development Management: Project Approach" is conducted at the Centre for the Development of Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry, which was opened on the basis of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Centre was established in the course of implementation of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry".

The programme includes issues related to the formation of master plans for territories, and the training also includes blocks related to financial modelling, infrastructure issues, regulatory and legal aspects, and digital transformation in tourism.
