The 45th Sambo Founders Cup was held in the Russian capital, the International Sambo Center. National teams from 16 countries, ranging from Azerbaijan to the Republic of Congo, took part in the tournament. Russia was represented by 82 participants, including a representative of the Volga Region University.
Tatyana Fedorova, a third-year student of the Institute of Sport, climbed to the top step of the podium in the category up to 50 kg.
- It's a very large international tournament, so I prepared for it particularly diligently, and I think that everything turned out perfectly. It was interesting to fight with everyone, absolutely every athlete is highly ranked, and I learned a lot of new things from the fights with them.
Next time I plan to compete at the All-Russian Sambo Competition among students, which will be held on May 10-13,” Tatyana said.
