The issues of strengthening inter-university cooperation, exchange of students and faculty, establishment of scientific internships, development of joint educational and scientific programmes were discussed today during the visit of a delegation from Uzbekistan to the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Uzbek delegation took part in the recent KazanForum "Russia - Islamic World". Today, Rector of Bukhara State University Obidzhon Khamidov and Dean of the Economics Faculty of Bukhara State University Dilshod Yavmutov, accompanied by Deputy Director of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance of Kazan Federal University Oksana Polyakova, visited the sports university in Tatarstan.
The guests of the capital of Tatarstan familiarised themselves with the material and technical base and information facilities of the Volga Region University. The delegation, accompanied by Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs of the university Andrey Nazarenko, visited the cybersports hall and saw in action how students of the sports university, masters of sports combine study programmes with lessons in the cybersports hall. The digital capabilities and facilities of the university were also demonstrated in other auditoriums. The guests toured the teaching, cultural, research and sports halls and visited the Information and Resource Centre and Kazan 2013 Museum.
At the meeting chaired by Azat Sharapov, First Vice-Rector of the Volga Region State University, the parties discussed possible areas of cooperation which will soon be formalised through an agreement between the parties. The meeting was also attended by Robert Bikmukhametov, Director of the Volga Region Institute of Sports, and Rezeda Khadiullina, Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism.
