Volga Region University respects and reveres the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. To immortalize their exploits, in the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the university holds many events and opens various exhibitions. One of them is the exhibition of student art “We are against fascism”.

It contains works made of various materials: painted posters, cardboard and paper models, knitted and sewn toys, wood and papier-mache crafts. Students presented heroic images of fighters and great battles, demonstrating a fierce rejection of fascism.

The exhibition is aimed at involving representatives of different generations in moral-patriotic, cultural and creative dialogue, as well as at preserving and popularizing the traditions of multinational culture of the peoples of Russia.

It fosters in young people feelings of patriotism and love for the Motherland, respect for war veterans and home front workers, as well as pride in the nation. Thanks to the creative work, students were able to expand their knowledge of the Great Patriotic War and the greatness of the feat of the Soviet people.

The organizers of the exhibition of students' creativity were associate professors of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines: Elena Shigortsova, Julia Shabalina and Alik Salimov, together with the staff of the Department of Social and Educational Work.

- My creative work is dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad. I started preparing it back in September - I used cardboard and decorative stones to create the layout. I was very inspired by the history of the Battle of Stalingrad - its scale, the heroism of Soviet soldiers and the fortitude of ordinary people. That's why I dedicated the fake to the courage of the defenders of Stalingrad - I tried to convey the atmosphere of the destroyed city.

I decided to take part in the exhibition because I think it is important to preserve historical memory. Through creativity you can convey emotions and look at history - not on dry dates, but on a living, personal memory, - shared student Evgenia Tarasova - author of the work “The Battle of Stalingrad”.

According to her, such events not only develop the creative potential of students, but also help to form a civic position, patriotism and respect for history. Eugenia Tarasova also noted that together with her supervisor Yulia Shabalina she presented her work at the exhibition in KSASU, where she took the third place.
