Chairman of the primary trade union organisation of employees of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Danir Islyamov took part in the XII All-Russian seminar-meeting of chairmen of primary trade union organisations of university employees and specialists of regional organisations of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education. The seminar was held in the city of St. Petersburg these days and the participants of the event were representatives of all regions of Russia.
The seminar was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union Vadim Dudin and the Director of the Department of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Aslan Kanukoev.
In his speech, the Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union revealed the key areas of activity of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education in higher education institutions, dwelt in detail on the main task - to address socio-economic issues. He noted that today there are 722 higher education institutions in Russia, where 61 thousand age teachers work and there are 13 students per one teacher. During his speech Vadim Dudin outlined the problems of the country's higher education institutions: staff shortage, formation of salaries due to high workload, conclusion of labour contracts with teaching staff, the consequence of the demographic situation: insufficient enrolment of applicants to higher education institutions.
In turn, Aslan Kanukoev spoke in detail about the future directions of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the financing of higher education.
The seminar also raised the issues of social partnership and discussed its prospects and opportunities. The sections were also devoted to the development of the higher education system and the activities of the Trade Union, social support and motivation of trade unionists, young teachers and researchers. Traditionally, special attention was paid to the issues of remuneration of labour in educational organisations of higher education.
The seminar-meeting ended with the IX All-Russian Trajectory of Success competition and the award ceremony for the winners of the competition.
