College teachers of Volga Region University took a training master class “Creating a chatbot as a virtual teaching assistant”, which was conducted by Ilyas Raziapov, a lecturer of the Department of Information Systems and Fijital Sports.

The master class was devoted to the modern approach to teaching students using Internet technologies, in particular, telegram bots. The initiative is aimed at improving the quality of education, as well as preparing teachers for life in a digital society, which corresponds to the objectives of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State”.

- I teach at the Department of Information Systems, so I have a keen interest in automation and Internet technologies. At first, I created a chatbot for myself, but after seeing the students' interest in this kind of learning format, I decided to make a master class and share my developments with my colleagues. Besides, the bot takes care of some of the routine work, which makes the teachers' work easier. I believe that the training was effective and productive - my colleagues were satisfied with the master class,” Ilyas Razyapov told about the idea of the training event.

During the training, the college teachers created their own chatbots, which allowed them to better understand how this technology works. Olga Lyubyagina, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Fijital Sports, noted that modern technologies do not replace traditional teaching methods, but serve as a useful supplement, making classes more productive and effective.

- I was very satisfied with the master class - the material was clear, accessible and, of course, useful. Thanks to Ilyas Gabdullovich, I was able to quickly and easily create a Telegram bot. I plan to use the virtual assistant as a teaching assistant: giving students access to teaching materials, textbook recommendations and external resources. I can also use the bot to directly ask students questions, send reminders about assignment due dates, and even receive papers from students,” Guzel Yakovleva, the college's deputy director for academic affairs, shared her impressions of the master class.

She also noted that the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence are the realities of our time. Therefore, it is necessary to teach teachers how to use these tools correctly, because it is effective and interesting for all sides of the educational process.
