Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with rectors of universities and heads of scientific institutions located in the republic. At the meeting, the results of joint work in 2023 were summed up and plans for the next year were outlined. The event took place at KFU.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that holding such meetings on the eve of the New Year has become a good tradition. “Today, great changes are taking place in the higher education system. Everyone understood that education is the only way to be competitive and self-sufficient. There are no other ways. Our universities have done a lot of work this year. An important achievement of the outgoing year is that advanced engineering schools will be created on the basis of 2 more universities. These are AGNI and KNITU-KAI. In general, higher educational institutions of Tatarstan have enormous potential; it is necessary to move forward together,” Rais of the Republic emphasized.

Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of the Republic, Rector of KFU Lenar Safin noted that the key project for the development of universities is “Priority 2030”.

During the meeting, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, Rifkat Minnikhanov, spoke about the main problems of regional scientific and technological development and their solutions.

The director of the institution, Alexey Kalachev, introduced the priority directions for the further development of the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
