The Volga Region University team took fourth place among 21 teams at the RiskTech Hackathon competition. The competition was held at the Ak Bars Bank Corporate University. The event was held to find talented specialists in the field of development to create products and services using new technologies.
The most important stage of the event was working on a special project in the area of banking risk management.
The teams were given eight hours to complete the task, and the wording of the assignment was announced only on the day of the event, adding complexity and intrigue to the execution. At the end there was a presentation of the products and their analysis with the expert jury.
The Volga Region University of Sport team was represented by Darina Khakimova, Bakhtiyar Kasimov and Daniil Kanaichev. Daniil told us the details of the competition:
- What were the specifics of the competition? Why did you decide to participate?
- Our team had to solve a task by a certain time. It was interesting to try our hand at it.
- How difficult was the case, and what was it like for the three of you to solve it for eight hours?
- It was something new for us and no one knew where to start solving the problem, but we managed.
- What feedback did the jury give you on what was missing from the top three?
- We lacked ‘soft skills’ and time. It was our first experience of participating in such an event. But I would like to note that there were very strong opponents in the competition, for whom it was not the first Hackathon.
