Today, students from the Orenburg, Yaroslavl and Sverdlovsk Regions started training at the Centre for the Development of Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry under the professional retraining programme "Management of Tourism Territory Development: Project Approach".  

The training is conducted within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Recall that in 2024, 7 courses will be held under the professional retraining programme "Management of tourism territories development: project approach". The courses will be attended by students from 21 regions of Russia.

Teams of Russian regions are invited to participate in the programme, including representatives of state and municipal authorities of the regions, heads of tour operators, heads of accommodation facilities located in a particular tourist area; representatives of investors planning to participate in the development of specific tourist areas.

After the training, students will receive a professional retraining diploma entitling them to professional activity in the industry.

The main objective of the training is to form a team of professionals in the region capable of developing and implementing projects for the development of specific tourist areas, in close cooperation with all stakeholders.

In 2023, teams from the Samara region, Bashkiria and Tatarstan were trained.

Welcoming the participants, Adelia Pavlova, vice-rector for academic work and digital transformation at the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, noted that the demand for the programme is high.

"There are regions that are now on the waiting list. These are the Tomsk region, the Republic of Kalmykia, the Komi Republic, the Irkutsk region.

Among the trainees, there are ministers, mayors of cities, vice-governors of regions, general directors of tour operators, heads of hotels, investment companies", - emphasised the vice-rector of the university.
