Volga Region University received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club, which visited Kazan as part of the international economic forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum”.

Guests from the United Arab Emirates were especially interested in the infrastructure for water sports and the conditions created for athletes in Russia and Tatarstan. As part of the delegation, four people came to the Volga University - Advisor to the President of the UAE Olympic Committee, Head of the sports sector of the UAE Paralympic Committee, Sports Director of the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club Amr Badawi, Manager of the Sports Sector of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan Academy of Women's Sports, Member of the Board of Directors Aquatics Club Fatima Al Ameri, Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club Vice President Saeed Al Jasmi and Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club Board Member Noura Al Ameri.

The acquaintance with the university infrastructure took place under the guidance of the Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Andrei Nazarenko and with the accompaniment of a graduate of the Volga Region University, director of the Kazan International Institute for Cooperation with the Countries of Africa and the Middle East Fisal Hassan. The Universiade Museum aroused a lot of emotions among the delegates, where they left a note with wishes on the wall, and a lot of professional interest appeared in the laboratory, where guests from the UAE tried out innovative equipment.

At the end of the visit, representatives of the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club talked with the leadership of the Volga Region University about joint plans.

“We hope that successful cooperation awaits us ahead; the possibility of holding training camps on the basis of the Volga Region University is especially interesting. The laboratory, where it is possible to thoroughly study the capabilities of athletes and their health, impressed us most of all. In the summer, our athletes will come to Kazan and, perhaps, they will be able to try out these opportunities for themselves,” said Said Al Jasmi, vice-president of the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club. “We would also be happy to host graduates of the Volga Region University in the Emirates - we especially need specialists in the field of sports.”
