A center for weaving camouflage nets for Russian fighters is operating at the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The university plans to prepare a batch of 20 nets and give them to the volunteer battalion “Timer”, to which it provides humanitarian aid.

Natalya Grechannikova, the university's vice-rector for administrative work, social development and youth policy, has studied the experience of the volunteer headquarters at Kazan's Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, whose members weave camouflage nets every day. Inspired by their example, the staff of the University of Sport produced the necessary equipment and purchased materials.

- Weaving camouflage nets is an art that requires training, otherwise there will be gaps in the net that can ruin the soldiers' camouflage. A huge thank you to all those involved in this important endeavor. We continue our work every day - one day these nets may save someone's life,” emphasized Rector of Volga Region University Rafis Burganov at the Academic Council.

Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Asgat Safarov, Head of the Tatarstan Rais Administration, also familiarized themselves with the university's volunteer activities. They thanked the university staff for their help in the common cause.

Everyone can join the weaving of camouflage nets - the training will be helped by the participants of the Student Volunteer Association. For information you can contact the Student Council or the Department of Social and Educational Work (office E302).
