The signing of a cooperation agreement between sports universities was the main result of the visit of a delegation from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture to Kazan. As part of the programme of the visit, the guests of Tatarstan were presented the opportunities of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The document was signed by Rectors of the educational institutions Rafis Burganov and Fuad Hajiyev today.
The subject of the agreement was the development and strengthening of international educational ties in order to train highly qualified specialists in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism.
Within the framework of interaction the parties plan to develop joint research projects, conduct joint scientific research on a wide range of problems of physical culture, sport and tourism.
In addition, the plans envisage the organisation of joint international seminars, conferences and mutual exchange of educational and scientific-methodological literature.
The exchange of teachers for masterclasses, lectures, mutual internships for faculty members to improve their qualifications, as well as student exchange is one of the main points of the signed document.
"We have very good partnership and strategic relations with the Russian Federation, especially with Tatarstan - the same mentality, the same customs, worldview, attitude to everything that is going on.
We were glad to visit the Volga Region University of Physical Culture and Sport. We have big plans and intentions - co-operation in the field of education," said the rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture.
Rector of the Volga Region University Rafis Burganov, in turn, emphasised that the parties are equally interested in close cooperation.
"I think that the issues we have managed to discuss already have a great continuation. And in the future, when our faculty will be involved in this work, the field for joint work will become wider. He who walks the road will walk the road!" said Rafis Burganov, Rector of Tatarstan's sports university.
