Adelina Gainutdinova, a student of the Volga Region University College, became the 3rd degree prize winner of the IV Interregional Myasnikov Readings.
The girl was awarded a diploma.
According to her teacher Galina Satunina, Adelina's work is devoted to ecology and nature management of her native land.
"We raised a very important and relevant problem today - environmental pollution from polythene bags. They are
are everywhere now. Most products in shops and supermarkets are packed in them, and people use them in their homes. And mountains of rubbish made from plastic bags are all over the world. Meanwhile, it takes at least 400 years for a plastic bag to decompose!", - Galina Satunina emphasised the importance of the project.
She also added that within the framework of this project a survey was conducted on the possibility of using shoppers instead of plastic bags.
"We found out that 80 per cent of respondents are ready to replace bags with a more environmentally friendly alternative," Galina Satunina also said.
Myasnikov Readings is a platform for students who show interest in research, project activities, making their first steps into science. Representatives of the network of UNESCO Associated Schools in the Russian Federation also take part in them.
