In the midst of heavy snowfalls, the staff of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism joined the city's "Buran" plan and are helping clear the university grounds of snowdrifts.
Today, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin announced the extension of the "Buran" plan to clear the city of snow before the onset of severe frosts. Students and staff of the Volga Region University have also joined in. Picking up shovels, they are working together to help municipal services clear the university grounds of snow, demonstrating responsibility and solidarity in the fight against snowdrifts.
"The teachers invited us to join the snow removal effort, and we happily agreed. It's a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, which is beneficial both for our health and for the well-being of the university grounds. Our Basketball and Volleyball Theory and Methodology Department has been working together to clear the right side of the stairs near the Alley of Flags, for example," shared third-year student Kamil Vagizov.
Student Ratmir Semenov also emphasized the importance of helping clear snowdrifts during the city's challenging weather conditions. He said that teamwork not only strengthens team cohesion but also fosters the competitive spirit inherent in a sports university.
