College students of the Volga Region University took part in the interuniversity Cup of environmental cases "Kilachak", held by the TISBI University of Management.
The guys presented four projects to solve environmental problems. As a result, the case “International standards for industrial wastewater treatment” by Daria Afrikantova and Arshidin Ismailov became a prize-winner.
“Water pollution is one of the problems faced in industrial regions,” noted college director Alsu Zheltyakova. “This problem can be solved by purifying wastewater from enterprises before it enters public water bodies, using mechanical treatment methods and electrochemical processes. These methods have a number of advantages: continuity of operation, environmental friendliness and complete automation of the process."
In their case, the guys proposed the same methods for treating wastewater from enterprises. The college director also said that in addition to participating in the competition, students joined the environmental club “Center for Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation”, created at the TISBI University of Management with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs - Rosmolodezh.
