About 500 students of the Volga Region University of Sports took part in the online educational campaign “Sociological Dictation”, which was held by VTsIOM.
The event was timed to coincide with Sociologist's Day, which is celebrated in Russia on November 14.
Both senior students who have already studied sociology and freshmen who are just taking their first steps in studying social disciplines took part in the event. These are students of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, the Institute of Sports and the Institute of Physical Culture.

Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Candidate of Social Sciences, Associate Professor Elena Shchigortsova and Candidate of Social Sciences, Associate Professor Aigul Khuramshina noted that the students coped with the task. The results of some exceed 60 points out of 100 possible.
“I myself did not write a dictation with 100 points, although I received a certificate with honors,” said Aigul Khuramshina. – Some questions are narrowly professionally oriented, and to answer them you need to be familiar with specific sociological topics. But this is the meaning, the mission of sociological dictation: to interest, to create a mystery.”
“We were very enthusiastic about organizing students to participate in the action. During the teaching of the Fundamentals of Russian Statehood, we see that students show great interest in society, in relationships between people, in social processes. Sociological dictation, to a certain extent, allows you to satisfy this curiosity,” added Elena Shchigortsova.
