The works of Adela Abdrakhmanova and Polina Chugunova, students of the Volga Region University of Sport, made it to the finals of the All-Russian with international participation competition of young scientists in the field of physical culture and sport "Sport of the Future - Science of the Young".

The competition is held by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Scientific Centre for Physical Culture and Sport" within the framework of the anniversary events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the state management body in the field of physical culture and sport and the 90th anniversary of the scientific centre.

There are four nominations. Adel and Polina prepared works in two - "Scientific review on the results of foreign scientific research in the field of physical culture and sport" and "Sports training of children and adolescents" respectively. They made it to the top 10 papers.

"I am very happy that I managed to pass the selection and participate in an event of such a scale, for me this is the first such an important and large competition!" - said Polina Chugunova. The girl thanked the university administration - Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities Andrey Nazarenko and Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics Lyubov Botova for the opportunity.

"Special thanks to my supervisor Liliya Konovalova for the trust to take part in this competition, for preparation and all-round support," the student added.

"Especially motivating for me were the papers that performed an umbrella review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses and a separate systematic review. The methodology used in such studies allows us to talk about their quality and the great work done", - said Adela Abdrakhmanova.

The girls noted the remarkable organisation of the conference and the high level of competitive works of all participants. Vice-rector for scientific work and international activities Andrey Nazarenko in turn said that for the development of science of students and young scientists of the university, as well as expanding research experience and improving presentation skills, it is necessary to systematically participate in various scientific competitions.

"Winning scientific competitions gives further incentive to do science and improve the scientific rating of the university," he added.

We congratulate the students and scientific supervisors and wish them further success in their research activities.
