Students of the Institute of Sports of Volga Region University took up the baton of the weekly ceremony of raising the national flags of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, on 30 October, the honourable right was given to Nikita Andronov, a third-year student of artistic gymnastics, silver medallist of the Russian Championship 2022 and 2023, bronze medallist of the Russian Cup this year, and Stanislav Isaev, a fourth-year student of artistic gymnastics, medallist of the first Spartakiade of the strongest athletes of Russia, Roman Spiridonov, a second-year student of Sport Gymnastics, a bronze medallist of the All-Russian competitions among sports universities of Russia and the head of the Volga Region University Patriots' Association.

Addressing the students, Robert Bikmukhametov, director of the institute, noted that raising flags at the university is a new, good tradition that has its own history. "This initiative has been revived. The pioneers in our university were the students of the Institute of Physical Culture, then the right to raise flags passed to the representatives of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, now the baton was taken by the Institute of Sport", - said the head of the Institute.

Taking the opportunity, Robert Bikmukhametov congratulated all those present on the Coach's Day, which is celebrated today.
"Russian athletes and coaches glorify our country by winning awards at international competitions. Thanks to them the flag is raised and the anthem of Russia is played," said Robert Bikmukhametov.

Let us remind you that a new tradition - to start the week with the raising of national flags and singing of anthems - appeared at the University in September this year. The right to raise flags is given to especially distinguished students of the university - for success in studies, achievements in sports and creativity.
