The gymnasts of the Comprehensive Sports School performed under the second category programme and won three medals - Elina Yunusova won the vault, Mariana Andreeva won silver and Erika Ivanova was third in balance beam exercises. The athletes performed under the guidance of International Master of Sport Leysira Borovik.

‘We have close relations with the gymnasts of Dynamo society - in summer the athletes come to Kazan for training camps, so the venue is not new for them, and the competitions were comfortable, - said Lyubov Botova, Head of the Department of Gymnastics Theory and Methodology. - Competitions turned out bright and heartfelt. It was interesting to communicate with representatives and coaches of ‘Dynamo’ society, including Anatoly Zabelin - Nikita Nagorny's coach.
It is pleasant that the memory of Oleg Zakharov is alive - during his lifetime he gathered all gymnastics of Tatarstan around him, and now he has united again representatives not only of the republic, but also of Russia. It was as if he was guiding, where one should strive, where there is a potential for growth.
140 athletes came: representatives of Moscow, Cheboksary, Izhevsk and Ulyanovsk. The exchange of experience, emotions and knowledge allows the development of gymnastics: athletes, coaches, judges. All together - the Volga Region University, based in the Gymnastics Centre, the Olympic Reserve Sports School ‘First’ and the Integrated Sports School - have laid down the traditions of the tournament and we will keep them, moving up the spiral of development’.
