Employees of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Volga Region State University have created a force-measuring device that surpasses foreign analogues.
The device is designed to assess the motor activity of leg muscles in the knee joint at different modes of muscle contraction, as well as for the preparation and support of the training process of athletes.
This system takes into account the anatomical features of the researched person and allows to adjust the force-measuring unit taking into account the length of his thigh and lower leg.
According to Andrey Nazarenko, vice-rector for scientific work and international activities of the university, the developed force-measuring unit has a number of important advantages compared to foreign analogues.
"This is simultaneous assessment of strength characteristics of both lower limbs, a greater number of measured parameters, telemetric operation of the unit, developed Russian software and another important point - it is cheaper than foreign analogues", - stressed Andrey Nazarenko.
In addition to the above features, unlike foreign analogues, this unit can be used to train leg muscles in modes that cannot be realised on standard simulators.
"Mostly only foreign systems are presented on the market, so employees of our research institute decided to create their own, Russian product, superior to foreign analogues", - added Andrey Nazarenko.
