The first open championship of the Volga Region University in the Student Games of the Future in the discipline “Figital Football” took place last weekend in the gym of the Rowing Sports Center.
Eight teams of the republic’s universities - from KNRTU, KAI, KFU, TISBI, KSMU, RGUP, KYUI - competed in the computer game “FIFA”, and then in a real football match.
The federal university team and the Aviators met in the final. In virtual reality, the teams played a draw - 7:7, after which they took to the field and again the match ended with a draw - 1:1. The champion was determined in a penalty shootout, where the KFU team was more fortunate and won with a score of 9:8.
The match for bronze medals between the teams of the Volga Region University and RGUP ended with a confident victory for the home team. First, the teams played FIFA; the students of the University of Sports and Tourism won with a score of 8:2. And having entered the field, the Volga Region University team secured the victory by scoring another goal against the guests.
The winner of the tournament, the team from Kazan Federal University, received a certificate worth 30,000 rubles. The second place winners, the team from the Kazan Aviation Institute, were awarded a certificate worth 18,000 rubles. Bronze medalists - the host team of the site received a certificate for 6,000 rubles.
