College students of Volga Region University are trained in an additional general education programme of social and humanitarian orientation "Military-patriotic education and basics of military training".
The classes are conducted by instructors of the centre for the development of military sports training and patriotic education of youth "Warrior", which was initiated by the co-chairmen of the Russian Union of Martial Arts - First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kirienko and Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev.
In September 2022, the idea was also supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Such classes are very important as they give an opportunity to learn applied skills, master so-called 'soft skills', as well as improve physical fitness and get additional socialisation," commented Alsu Zheltyakova, director of the college. - The guys like it, and the experienced instructors, many of whom have combat experience, are of particular interest. After graduation, the students of Volga Region University and the college have a common goal: to educate future patriots of their country, so now they attend the classes with great pleasure".
