Deputy Head of the Medical Unit of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Volga Region University Rustam Yakubov took part in the XV anniversary international symposium on sports medicine and rehabilitation under the auspices of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
The symposium is a traditional place for the exchange of experience among practicing doctors and specialists from Russia and foreign countries. Every year, well-known sports doctors and rehabilitation specialists, members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and doctors from leading sports clubs and clinics speak at this event.
Over the years, specialists from Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Poland, Switzerland and other countries took part.
This year at the symposium there were presentations on sports traumatology and cardiology, nutrition and pharmacological support for sports, sports selection and genetics in sports medicine, anti-doping support in sports, biomedical technologies in sports, and sleep disorders in athletes. The main aspects of medical and biological support for sports were outlined.
“Such congresses allow doctors to stay on their toes, to be aware of the basic treatment and preventive approaches accompanied by sports training,” noted Rustam Yakubov.
The doctor acted as a co-speaker on the topic “Features of medical support for persons involved in parafootball.” Scientific supervisor and main speaker - head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine of the KSMA-branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Further Professional Education of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, chief freelance specialist in medical rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, head of the treatment and rehabilitation center of the city clinical hospital N7 named after M.N. Sadykov of Kazan, d. m.s. Rezeda Bodrova.
As part of the symposium, Rustam Yakubov was also awarded a letter of gratitude.
